She is on a train headed to me
in a cold car where her bones rattle
ever so beautifully.
She is peering out at the snow
slowly becoming
the rivers upon which our
love will someday flow,
the rivers who'll feed the fields
from which our love will someday grow.
She is sleepless as am I,
and anxious as the miles and miles
pile upon eachother.
Every steel bridged precipice a possibilty
we may never hold one another...
But she braces for that inevitable collision,
where slumber is annihilated,
and dream becomes reality.
Where the rails end, and routine gives way to unrestrained jubilee.
She is on a train headed to me
in a cold car where her bones rattle
eternally.
